Toilet Talk: Supporting Your Neurodivergent Young Person
Toileting can be complex for many neurodivergent young people and their families. When things feel stuck, it can be difficult to know what is getting in the way or where to begin.
In this webinar, we’ll look at toileting through a different lens, exploring the factors that can make toileting difficult, including interoception, sensory experiences, physiology, constipation, communication, safety and autonomy. We’ll also consider withholding and how physical and emotional experiences can become intertwined.
We’ll explore how to approach toileting with curiosity rather than pressure, and practical ways to make toileting more manageable and accessible across different environments.
This session is for parents and carers of neurodivergent young people at any stage of their toileting journey.
