Medication: Understanding, Asking and Supporting

Sometimes our young people need medication, but deciding whether to start a new medication (or understanding one they already take) can feel overwhelming.

This webinar provides foundation knowledge about medications, including dosage, generic and brand names, if you need to consider other foods/supplements while taking it, and who to turn to when you have questions. We’ll explore what questions you can ask your healthcare provider so you can feel more informed and confident when making decisions about medication.

We’ll also look at practical, neuro-affirming strategies for supporting your young person to take medication, including sensory considerations, predictability, communication and different ways medication may be offered.
